Ice Cream Factory

A great brand had a self-built Wix site that limited its potential. We rebuilt it in Next.js and gave it the digital infrastructure its product deserved.

Ice Cream Factory mobile website

Ice Cream Factory ranks above national chains in Greensboro organic search. This didn't come from paid ads. It came from proper content architecture, schema markup, and a mobile-first site that Google trusts.

The Challenge

Ice Cream Factory is not just another ice cream shop. 50+ flavors, Ice Cream Nachos, Boats, Stackers, Break & Shake creations, rotating limited-time offerings. This is a menu-driven brand built around exploration, and it was gaining real organic traction on TikTok before Koford Media ever got involved. The problem was the website. Owner Johnny had built it himself on Wix, and for a do-it-yourself solution it got the job done. But the menu lived as images. Navigation was harder than it needed to be. The platform had a ceiling. As the brand grew, the site stopped keeping up, and a concept with franchise ambitions cannot afford a website that feels like a placeholder.

The Approach

Our role was never to fix Ice Cream Factory. Our role was to build infrastructure worthy of what the brand already was. The rebuild started with the menu, because the data made clear that is where customers spend their time. We replaced image-based menus with a fully interactive, text-based menu that search engines can actually read and users can actually browse.

We rebuilt the entire site in Next.js, same framework, same deployment infrastructure, same performance standard we use across every Koford Media project. The difference between Wix and a properly built Next.js site is not cosmetic. It is structural. Pre-rendered pages, WebP image delivery, inline critical CSS, component-level JavaScript loading. These are the things that compound into search ranking over time.

The local SEO strategy built into the site was the same methodology we used to put Ice Cream Factory above Ben and Jerry's in organic search within a 50-mile radius of Greensboro. It is not a trick. It is content architecture, schema markup, clean URLs, and mobile performance built correctly from the start.

We also laid the groundwork for franchise growth. The franchise page was live on day one, alongside the loyalty program, gift cards, and app store links, all operational before a single customer walked in expecting them.

The Menu Page Does Real Work

The data says it clearly: the menu page alone has generated over 8,700 views, with 1,100 active users and 10,000 recorded events, while holding a bounce rate of just 19.1 percent. That means people are finding the menu, staying on it, clicking through it, and not leaving.

The Flavors page and Premium Ice Cream page follow the same pattern: thousands of views, high engagement. These pages are doing exactly what they are supposed to do: answering questions before a customer walks through the door.

Organic Search Is the Primary Growth Driver

Over 1,400 active users arrive from Google organic search, not paid ads. Direct traffic is also strong, which signals brand recognition and repeat visitors. When people in Greensboro search for ice cream near them, Ice Cream Factory appears. That level of visibility does not come from a website alone. It comes from a strong product, real customer demand, and digital infrastructure that removes friction and supports discovery.

Built for Franchising

Ice Cream Factory's franchise potential is real. The brand has proven concept, a repeatable menu format, visual appeal that travels, organic social traction, and a digital infrastructure that scales. The franchise page was live on day one. For entrepreneurs interested in owning a location, the foundation is already there. More information is available at icecreamfactorync.com/franchise.

Stability That Users Never Notice

Since launch: no bug reports, no complaints about usability, no feature requests driven by confusion, no performance issues across devices. That level of stability is not accidental. It is the result of professional development, clean architecture, and ongoing management. A website is successful when customers never have to think about it. Ice Cream Factory's site simply works.
